LSAqua experiment results

LSAqua

LSAqua has attended this April the European Aquaculture 2020 online Conference, where we explained the results found in the experiment performed in the Institute of Aquaculture Torre de la Sal (IATS-CSIC) in the Aquaexcel 2020 framework and executed under Trans National Access (TNA) project.

In our company LSAqua we pursue the main objective of creating alternative protein sources to substitute fish meal from aquafeed diets. We have developed our own protein-source called LSAqua Suspro, a blend of single cell protein (SCP), processed animal protein (PAP) and vegetable proteins.

For this trial, a combination of PAP and bacterial-SCP protein was developed taking in consideration the nutritional properties of fishmeal as well as their potential substitutes, along with the nutrient requirements of the valued Mediterranean fish species; gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata).

Fifty and hundred per cent fish meal substitution by LSAqua Suspro was evaluated in order to assess the impact of the ingredient in growth performance, but also in the histological and microbiological level to have a holistic approach. The results found revealed the relation between the feed, the growth and microbiota.

The video will be available in EAS platform until 1st of June, but if anybody wants further information, do not hesitate to contact us: hello@lsaqua.be.
